Patient Story - Jean Beyer
Jean Beyer experienced symptoms last summer that are typical signs to get to an emergency department, stat.
The 78-year-old Lexington resident had indications such as severe pain and a drawing down sensation in his neck that prompted a trip to Lafayette Regional Health Center one evening.
“I was in discomfort and of course anxious when I got to the hospital,” says Jean. “There was absolutely no wait time and everyone was extremely efficient, which immediately put me at ease.”
Jean says once the emergency department team inserted an IV he was transported to a hospital room where multiple tests were administered and he was observed by his doctors Ram Chandra, DO, and Lloyd Stahl, MD, of Midwest Cardiology Associates over several days.
“When nothing reoccurred my doctors determined the symptoms were isolated,” says Jean. “While I was in the hospital I was impressed with how attentive the nurses were and the sparkling clean facility.”
The retired Army career officer and Kansas City, Mo., teacher has lived in Lexington for 18 years and appreciates that Lafayette Regional Health Center is mere minutes from his house.
“We’re very fortunate to have this level of quality health care available to us in Lexington,” says Jean.
